True peace is not merely the absence of tension, it is the presence of justice. Martin Luther King, Jr. An invasion of armies can be resisted, but not an idea whose time has come. Victor Hugo The world is for the public good, such is the Great Way. Confucius Henceforth, our country should be the universe. Flora Tristan *

The Forum for a new World Governance database contains articles that deal with the most recent theoretical evolutions on global governance, and more specifically, those related to the issues being discussed and developed in the various forum activities.

The documents are selected on the basis of their analytical content as well as of the emphasis placed on specific proposals. They come from several kinds of sources: organizations recognized as producing content; regular publications; e-forums; research in other documentary databases, etc. Some of these sources can be accessed from the Links section.

The database is provided with a number of traditional search tools such as open search, searching by section or by keyword, as well as with a "mapping" tool.

Migrants spearhead an unprecedented political-cultural battle: to open new routes to the world
¤ François Soulard ¤ document written on September 2016
“"The river that carries everything away is called violent, but no one calls violent the bed that oppresses it". - Bertold Brecht “It is not the earth that moves this time, it is we, migrants. The migrants, all those people going through the many forms of human mobility, we are a substantial part of the new world reality and also an emblematic expression of its contradictions and (...) read more

Could the COP 21 be our next Westphalian Moment?
¤ Arnaud Blin ¤ document written on December 2015
As the COP 21 is in full throttle, let me reflect briefly on a unique historical event that in some ways resembled the predicament we find ourselves in today. One might call it the “Westphalian Moment.” To disparage any misunderstanding, let me first make a distinction between this and what has been known as the Westphalian Order, whose revival I am not advocating in the least sense. The (...) read more

Binding Chaos
¤ Heather Marsh ¤ document written on November 2015
The world is long overdue for a completely new system of governance. Every political system we have tried has proven incapable of protecting human rights and dignity. Every political system we have tried has devolved into oligarchy. To effect the change we require immediately, to give individuals control and responsibility, to bring regional systems under regional governance, allow global (...) read more

The One Party Planet
¤ The Rules ¤ document written on November 2015
So just who is in charge of this planet? Is it a small group of people with one plan? A large group of people with lots of competing plans? Several groups of people? Does it even make sense to think of ‘control’ in these terms at all? This short pamphlet is an attempt to answer this question. The case I make is, yes, it not only makes sense to think of control in these terms, but it is (...) read more

2015 : A turning point to face the climate challenge, exorcise fear and counter the logic of war.
¤ Jean Rossiaud ¤ document written on October 2015
Dear Friends of the FnWG, In the name of our team, I would like to send you our warmest and friendliest wishes for 2015 *. We will need even more solidarity and friendship, starting among ourselves, for we share values as essential as those of buenvivir and vivirbien. 2015 will be hot on the climate front, as well as, in these times of war, on the fronts of peace, democracy, and human and (...) read more

Europe needs a Grand Strategy
¤ Arnaud Blin ¤ document written on June 2015
Several weeks ago, Jean-Claude Juncker, the President of the European Commission, once again raised the idea of creating a European army. Arguing for the need to respond immediately to Putin’s affronts in Ukraine, Juncker went even further by underlining the effects that the construction of a common military structure could have on the future of Europe, on its security independence with (...) read more
